Abuja Agog As Ibadin Launches Property Brokers Magazine Amid Pomp, Seeks New Approach to Africa’s Real Estate Development
Publisher and Executive Chairman, Property Brokers International Magazine, Dr. Matthew Ibadin, has said the newly unveiled publication will serve as a credible platform to reshape discourse and practice in the continent’s real estate sector.
Speaking at the official launch of the magazine on Tuesday at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, with the theme “Securing the Future: A New Lens on Africa’s Real Estate Development,” Ibadin said the industry remains “one of the most dynamic drivers of our economy, yet also one of the most misunderstood and vulnerable to sharp practices.”
He explained that the magazine would go beyond print, positioning itself as a trusted bridge between government, investors, institutions, developers, brokers, and the judiciary.
“Our vision is clear to become the most trusted and influential real estate media brand in Africa and the world by providing market intelligence, policy updates, and investigative insights that empower better decision-making,” Ibadin said.
The publisher stressed that the magazine would offer guidance on mortgage loans, land documentation, collateral verification, and dispute resolution, while also supporting government reforms in housing, land management, and urban development.
“This is authority for the property authority, a voice that unites policymakers with innovation and professionalism. Whether you are a co-owner, investor, developer, or policymaker, you will find solutions here,” he assured.
Delivering the keynote address, CEO of Homes and Homes Real Estate Ltd, Mr. Ikem Ume-Ezeoke, commended Ibadin for “bringing a new innovation to the industry,” and noted that Africa must urgently address its housing deficit and rising construction costs.
According to him, the continent’s real estate sector faces critical challenges but also presents huge opportunities if global lessons are adapted locally.
“The housing deficit is estimated at between 17 to 22 billion U.S. dollars. Rising inflation, volatile material costs, and limited access to finance remain serious barriers. Governments must create enabling policies, simplify land acquisition processes, invest in infrastructure, and encourage private sector participation,” Ume-Ezeoke advised.
He recommended stronger mortgage guarantees, incentives for local production of building materials, and partnerships that will drive sustainable growth.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ajao Saka Adewale, described the magazine as timely, noting its potential to curb sharp practices in the industry.
“With the kind of synergy we are trying to establish now, there will be sanity in real estate. The issue of land grabbing has made investment difficult, with many people losing their money. But with investigative journalists like Dr. Ibadin, we can get at the root of these problems,” Adewale said.
The event attracted industry leaders, policymakers, security agencies, and private sector players who expressed optimism that the magazine would foster transparency and restore investor confidence in Africa’s real estate market.

Adron Homes Chairman Commends Oyo State’s Real Estate Reforms, Urges Policy Continuity
Adron Homes Chairman Commends Oyo State’s Real Estate Reforms, Urges Policy Continuity
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Adron Group, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, KOF, has commended the Oyo State Government for its bold reforms in the real estate sector, describing the state as a land of “history, enterprise, and endless possibilities.”
Aare Adetola remarked while delivering a goodwill message titled “The Real Estate Called Oyo State” at the 2025 Oyo State Real Estate Conference, held in Ibadan.
The event, themed “Real Estate and Economic Development in Oyo State: Strategies for Success,” brought together top real estate developers, government officials, and investors to discuss strategies for improving housing delivery and driving economic growth in the state.
Organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing and Urban Development in collaboration with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), the conference highlighted the need for policy stability, public-private partnerships, and innovation in real estate development.
In his address, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency and investor confidence through the digitalisation of land records (OYOGIS), improved urban planning, and major infrastructure upgrades across the state.
He also cited the passage of the Oyo State Land Control and Administration Bill, 2023, and the establishment of the Anti-Land Grabbing Task Force as key reforms curbing land disputes and promoting sustainable property ownership. Ogundoyin praised major developers such as Adron Homes and MKH Properties for their role in boosting investor trust in the Oyo property market.
In his goodwill message, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking applauded the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for maintaining consistency in land policies and governance structures, which he said had continued to attract serious investors to Oyo State.
He recalled that Adron Homes made its foray into Ibadan nearly a decade ago based on the state’s stable policy environment, a decision that has since yielded impressive results. He, however, urged the state government and future administrations to ensure policy continuity, warning that inconsistency could derail the progress already achieved.
The conference ended with a collective resolve by stakeholders to deepen collaboration between the public and private sectors, strengthen regulatory transparency, and create a business environment that will make Oyo State a model for real estate investment in Nigeria.
